In the second of this two-part series, Chad Hall from True Temper Sports discusses the attributes of Dynamic Gold and Dynamic Gold High Launch as well as Project X and Rifle.

What are the differences in launch conditions between Dynamic Gold and Dynamic Gold High Launch?
The two shafts are light years apart in terms of specifications and performance. Dynamic Gold is what we classify as a standard weight design weighing in at 130 grams. DG High Launch is 15 grams lighter. The DG High Launch produces a much higher initial launch condition (1.6° increase) and features a peak trajectory some 6-8 feet higher than Dynamic Gold. DG High Launch was developed for a player seeking maximum peak trajectory.

There are many accomplished players that will find DG High Launch to their liking, especially those who desire a slightly higher trajectory. The majority of stronger swingers will gravitate to Dynamic Gold or Project X for a more penetrating flight while more moderate handicap profiles will find optimal performance in the DG High Launch.

What are the differences in launch conditions between Project X and Rifle?
Rifle launches higher than Project X. We classify Project X as a low launch shaft and Rifle as a mid flight shaft. Project X is also significantly stiffer in the butt section of the shaft providing the player the feeling of increased stiffness. One other significant difference between Project X and Rifle is that Project X is a constant weight design (Project X Flighted not included) meaning that all the shafts in the set weigh the same. Rifle is a descending weight shaft (as is PX Flighted) meaning that the shafts get progressively lighter from long iron to short iron. Descending weight shafts offer a frequency profile that is slightly softer in the short irons, producing a higher ball flight than a constant weight design.
